And, that's okay as long as Blizzard doesn't make a full length animated movie. They are a good CG studio but they are not have either the experience, technology, or funding to be on the same level as PIxar's feature animation studios.

They've done effects work on a lot of huge movies including LOTR, The Matrix, Harry Potter, etc.but their most prominent work was probably the full length film, Happy Feet. Although they don't have the laundry list of features that Pixar has, I'm keeping my eye on Australian animation film studio Animal Logic as a rival for Pixar in quality. Sure, there is a live-action film in the works, so it will be interesting to see who does the special effects in that, but even if Blizzard animation was drafted to do some work there, a more appropriate comparison would be Industrial Light and Magic or WETA. Valve has always been on the cutting edge of graphics, at least they were when the source engine was new, but they NEVER use CGI in their games. I am confused by the people saying Valve as well. The team that made the WotLK intro is the same team that made the Starcraft 2 trailer and so on. They have a CG "Studio" at their offices that works on scenes for ALL their games. Also, in an interview I saw with the Lead CG director at Blizzard. I know, I just watched it on netflix the other night. Up was 90 minutes, including the credits. It should also be noted that we aren't sure if Blizzard is using 1080p+ compression on their videos in the game, it could be much much better than what I've seen. There is a radical difference so they really can't be compared. " The team at Blizzard get 10 years to make 20 minutes worth of CG cut-scenes while Pixar has to pull 3 hours worth in a year or so. They don't contribute anything to the actual game except the CGI cut scenes and said: "Blizzard has an entire team dedicated to just CGI for their games. So, in the end, I disagree with discrediting Blizzard for how hard they work but I do agree it is hard to compare the two. They don't stop support of games upon release. Plus, Blizzard spends some of their time maintaining their library of games. I agree that the two really cannot be compared, but it's because Blizzard spends their 10 years crafting and completing a full feature game with cut-scenes and everything.
